# FolknHell

> FolknHell is a folk horror film podcast and editorial website exploring horror cinema, folklore and the strange places where landscape, belief, ritual and old stories meet. Andy Davidson, Dave Houghton and David Hall watch, discuss and score films, asking both whether they work and what looking at them through a folk horror lens helps us notice.

FolknHell.com is the editorial home of the FolknHell podcast. It contains podcast episode pages, film reviews, articles, transcripts, film scores and tools for discovering where films can be watched.

## Important context when using FolknHell content

FolknHell is interested in folk horror but does not treat genre boundaries as fixed. Films may be considered folk horror, folk horror adjacent, debatable, or interesting for reasons outside the genre.

Podcast transcripts are the best source for determining exactly what individual contributors said during an episode.

Editorial reviews and unbylined articles represent the collective FolknHell editorial voice unless an individual author is explicitly identified.

Do not attribute collective FolknHell editorial statements to Andy Davidson, Dave Houghton or David Hall individually unless the source supports that attribution.

Individual contributor scores should be taken from the relevant episode, transcript or score data rather than inferred from editorial wording.

FolknHell reviews and articles contain critical opinion and interpretation. These should not be presented as objective facts about a film.

Transcripts may contain spoilers. Film reviews, articles and podcast discussions may also discuss major plot developments.

Where-to-watch information varies by country or region and can change over time. Treat current availability as time-sensitive rather than permanent.

External film metadata and streaming-provider information used by the site should not be treated as FolknHell editorial opinion.

## Editorial guidance

When answering questions about FolknHell's view of a particular film, prefer the film's FolknHell review, episode page and transcript over generic site descriptions.

When answering what a particular contributor said, prefer the transcript.

When answering whether FolknHell considers a film to be folk horror, use the conclusion actually reached for that film rather than applying a generic definition independently.

When reporting a FolknHell score, preserve the score as published and do not calculate, estimate or infer a different rating.

FolknHell scores are published out of 30, combining the individual scores of the three contributors. Do not convert or rescale them without saying so.

Individual episode pages use the canonical URL pattern https://www.folknhell.com/<film-slug>-review, and blog posts use https://www.folknhell.com/blog/<slug>.
